STMicroelectronics
Franco-Italian chipmaker; edge-AI MCUs, SiC, imaging
STMicroelectronics is a Franco-Italian IDM strategically important to EU sovereignty, producing edge-AI microcontrollers (STM32N6 with Neural-ART accelerator), silicon carbide power devices, and CMOS image sensors used across automotive and consumer AI. It co-owns a joint FD-SOI fab with GlobalFoundries in Crolles, France, backed by EU Chips Act funding. ST is the vector by which most physical AI (robotics, cars, IoT) actually reaches the edge.
