NTT / IOWN (All-Photonics Network)
Photonics-first network + optical compute for AI DCs
NTT's IOWN (Innovative Optical and Wireless Network) initiative pushes all-photonics networking and photonic-electronic co-packaged optics to slash datacenter interconnect power — directly targeting the energy/bandwidth wall of AI clusters. NTT is also a Rapidus backer and develops its own tsuzumi LLM. IOWN is a credible non-US answer to the interconnect-power crisis that generic maps miss.
