Nvidia Research

Nvidia's research arm; Nemotron models and robotics/AI foundation work

Nvidia Research produces open Nemotron LLMs (built to showcase and optimize its own GPUs), plus foundation models for robotics (GR00T), autonomous driving, and simulation (Omniverse/Cosmos). It is unusual as a chipmaker also releasing competitive open models, using them to drive demand for CUDA and its hardware. Nvidia also invests directly in many frontier labs (OpenAI, xAI, Mistral, Cohere) as strategic customers.
