Reka is a smaller multimodal frontier lab (founded by ex-DeepMind/Google/Meta researchers) building the Reka Core, Flash, and Edge models with strong native multimodality. A ~$1B acquisition by Snowflake reportedly collapsed in 2024, and Reka continued independently, focusing on efficient multimodal models and on-prem enterprise deployment.
