TerraPower
Bill Gates-founded advanced reactor firm building Natrium in Wyoming
TerraPower, founded by Bill Gates, is building the Natrium plant — a 345 MWe sodium-cooled fast reactor paired with molten-salt thermal storage — in Kemmerer, Wyoming, having started non-nuclear construction in 2024. Natrium's storage lets it flex output, appealing for grids with variable renewables and datacenter loads. It targets operation around 2030 and depends on HALEU fuel supply that is currently constrained.
