X-energy
TRISO-fueled pebble-bed SMR developer; Amazon's nuclear partner
X-energy develops the Xe-100, an ~80 MWe high-temperature gas-cooled pebble-bed reactor using TRISO fuel, and also supplies TRISO fuel via its TX-1 facility. Amazon led a >$500M funding round in 2024 and agreed to support development of X-energy SMRs (targeting 300+ MW, including a project with Energy Northwest in Washington). It is a leading Gen-IV US SMR vendor, still pre-commercial.
