Stargate Project
$500B OpenAI-led US AI datacenter buildout (SoftBank, Oracle, MGX)
Announced January 2025 at the White House, Stargate is a joint venture to invest up to $500B over four years in US AI infrastructure, led by OpenAI with SoftBank, Oracle, and MGX (Abu Dhabi) as primary funders and Nvidia/Arm/Microsoft as technology partners. Its flagship Abilene, Texas campus scaled toward multiple gigawatts through 2025-2026, with additional sites announced across the US. Stargate epitomizes the shift to sovereign-scale, multi-gigawatt training campuses and is the single largest node linking capital, clouds, chips, and energy.
