Tokyo Electron (TEL)
Japan's WFE champion — coat/develop track monopoly around lithography
Tokyo Electron is the largest Japanese semiconductor equipment maker and a top-4 global WFE supplier, with dominant share in coater/developer (track) systems that partner directly with ASML scanners in every EUV and DUV litho cell. It also supplies etch, deposition, cleaning, and test tools. Its near-monopoly in advanced coat/develop tracks makes TEL a critical adjunct to the lithography step, and it is subject to Japan's coordinated export controls on advanced tools to China.
