ASML Holding
Sole maker of EUV lithography — the absolute chokepoint of leading-edge chipmaking
ASML is the only company on earth that builds extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography scanners, the machines required to pattern transistors at 5nm, 3nm, 2nm and below. Every leading-edge chip — from Nvidia GPUs to Apple SoCs — is patterned on an ASML EUV tool, making the company a single point of dependency for the entire advanced-semiconductor economy. As of 2025-2026 it is ramping High-NA EUV (Twinscan EXE:5000/5200, ~350M euros per unit) with Intel and TSMC as lead customers, while Dutch/US export controls bar EUV (and now some DUV) sales to China.
