Only hyperscaler with a mature, decade-old custom AI ASIC (TPU).
Google Cloud is the #3 hyperscaler and uniquely runs on the TPU, its in-house AI ASIC now in its 6th/7th generation (Trillium, Ironwood), used to train Gemini and increasingly offered to external customers. In 2025 Anthropic expanded a deal for up to ~1M TPUs / ~1GW+ of Google TPU capacity, a landmark external TPU commitment. Google also buys Nvidia GPUs and designs Axion Arm CPUs, making it the most vertically integrated AI cloud.
