Ablation Studies
An ablation study removes one part of a model or pipeline at a time to measure how much it really contributes. The name comes from neuroscience, where researchers studied what changed when part of a brain was removed. It keeps teams honest, since a complicated feature often adds little, and it is a good habit for agents and RAG systems too.
