Spiking Networks & Neuromorphic Computing

Spiking neural networks communicate with brief pulses over time, closer to real neurons than standard networks. Neuromorphic chips are built to run them, using very little power because units only work when a spike arrives. The appeal is efficiency at the edge. Training them is harder, and so far they have not matched mainstream deep learning on most large tasks.
