Prompt Caching

Prompt caching reuses the work a model already did on the start of a prompt, so repeated instructions and documents cost less and return faster. It works only when the repeated part comes first and stays identical, so prompt order becomes an engineering decision. For agents that resend long context on every step, it can be the largest single saving available.
