Survival Analysis

Survival analysis models the time until an event: a patient relapses, a machine fails, a customer cancels. Its defining feature is censoring, where for some records the event has not happened yet, so the true time is only known to be longer than what was observed. Dropping those rows biases everything. The Kaplan-Meier curve (1958) estimates survival over time and the Cox model (1972) relates it to covariates.
