AI in Retail, Supply Chain and Manufacturing
In retail, supply chains, and factories, AI mostly means forecasting demand, planning stock and routes, and spotting defects or failures in sensor and camera data. It matters because small gains in forecast accuracy cut waste and stockouts. Amazon moved from classical statistics to neural networks such as DeepAR, which learn across millions of products at once. Example: a plant predicts a motor failure from vibration data and fixes it first.
