Game Theory for AI

Game theory studies decisions when the outcome depends on what others choose. In AI it explains how competing or cooperating agents should act, and why a stable outcome can still be a poor one. GANs, multi-agent systems, auctions and AI safety arguments about races between labs all lean on it, which makes it more practical than it first looks.
